Ironically he's still the odd one out, being the only guy without stick limbs and being twice as tall as everyone else.
Very fluid animation, very nicely done.
I agree that a story is not always necessary, however my only gripe with this piece is the tempo of the music you've chosen doesn't seem to match the speed that things are happening on screen. It feels like things should be moving faster or you should have instead chosen something slightly slower.
All in all though I thought it was great 5/5 9/10.
Thanks for the professional review, the good thing about NG, people actually give me advice. on youtube i just get one word comments. Thanks :P
Best thing on Newgrounds in quite a while.
This really made me laugh. The jokes were well thought out and it related to pokemon perfectly. The animation itself would normally be pretty shoddy I'm sorry to say. But for the humour that's being portrayed it seems to fit perfectly and better animations would probably not suit it as well. The voice acting was also spot on, and the English accent makes a refreshing change from the majority of flash animation.
I think I speak for allot of people when I say a sequel and/or series of this would be great and is mandatory, kay? thanks.
Simple game-play that works well.
Its a really nice game play mechanic. And the music is great :D
This is a good game, the art style is very nicely done.
However I have found a bug in your game, it seems that occasionally when the score screen appears a glitch can occur that causes your sponsor to be called up every time you click. If you fix that I'm sure it'll cause less frustration for players.
I actually quite liked it, it was challenging enough, yet not too challenging.
I was impressed with the particle engine you used. Did you make it yourself or was it a downloaded API?
Anyway, the graphics for the rest of the game could use a bit of work, as they looked like they only took about 3-5 mins tops, other than that it was fun!
The particle system actually came from another experiment I was doing. My old system was large, slow, and a pain to use. When I saw Archawns's thread in the forum about a 10KB game I decided to strip it down to the bare minimum I needed to make it work. I went from 3 external AS files down to a simple 4 functions, lol! I'll probably be making a thread in the Flash forums soon and share the code with everyone, it's insanely simple now.
The graphics are all handled thru the graphics API, using beginFill() and lineTo(). They would look way better if I drew them on my tablet, but the point of the challenge this game was entered in was to not have any library assets. Figuring out all the points and lines needed to do the graphics in code took me the better part of day. If I had been hand drawing this I would completely agree with you tho :P
Amazing composition, you've really tied in all the different aspects of an orchestra beautifully; I'd be really interested to know what you used to get the choir, if you would mind divulging that information :D.
Anyway, my only quandary is that after the main chorus when the choir comes in it sounds almost like a backing track, maybe it needs something extra there or the choir needs to be louder? Either way it's a brilliant song and I guess the saying "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" applies.
Keep up the good work! :)
